The founding story of Arctic
Today's markets are full of noise: headline bets, clickbait, social media posts.
Inspired by the unforgiving Arctic, where preparation and focus prevail, we help you invest calmly amid the noise.
Don't follow the herd. Analyse your lifetime wealth, then decide: build it, preserve it or enjoy it.
They want you to just trade. We want you to be responsible for your wealth.
The founder
Hi, call me Zane. I’m a London-based professional investor and CFA charterholder, managing a credit fund of over €3 billion.
I love hiking, climbing, skiing and sailing, though living in London I mostly just go running. You’ll often find me in Sweden, Switzerland and Hong Kong.
The idea for Arctic
One Christmas I spent two weeks in northern Sweden with no laptop and no stable internet. So I wrote my investment thesis on paper, did the calculations by hand, and placed limit orders at my own target prices.
The old-school approach surprised me. Slow, yes, but away from the market’s noise and gossip I was extremely clear-headed. I wanted to recreate that process with the convenience of technology, not its noise, so anyone can stay calm managing their wealth.
I then researched extensively and interviewed passionate investors, high-net-worth individuals, private bankers and family offices around the world, to understand the problems we share.
The result is Arctic: a well-crafted toolset that feels complete out of the box and solves real problems, for everyone who wants to feel calm and confident managing their own money.
I hope you like our approach to managing wealth.

My investment style
As a credit investor I’m naturally value-oriented, and that carries into my personal investing.
I take a core-satellite approach: passive ETFs as the core, for long-term goals such as retirement, and active bets for shorter-term goals, such as funding my next sailing competition. I mostly avoid the large caps that dominate the popular indices, and my active bets are idiosyncratic, with lower correlation to the broader market.
I control risk through position sizing: each active bet is kept small enough that being wrong costs little.
Real performance, not a backtest
My real long-term goal. The objective: the S&P 500’s return, with lower risk.
